The East Hockey Youth Panel are looking for Young Leaders to join their team for the East Yazoo Mini Hockey Festival!

Requirements:
· LOVE HOCKEY?
· AGED BETWEEN 14 – 21?
· Have you done your Hockey Leadership Award? (not essential)
· AVAILABLE TO HELP ON 17TH/18TH APRIL?
The Festival takes place at Harleston Magpies Hockey Club, The Warrens, Harleston Rd, Weybread, Diss, IP21 5UD on the 17 & 18 April and will include the East Mini Yazoo Hockey Championships, Quicksticks Tournament and many other fun things organised by the East Youth Panel.
At the event you will be involved with the following activities:
-Result Running, manning the photography table, selling programmes, controlling the tournament table
-Helping in the Activities Tent with face painting, colouring competitions
-Helping run the outside activities: Hockey Speed Gun, Inflatable run and many more
-Helping run the Quicksticks Tournament
If you are a young leader between 14 and 21 years, have experience of leadership with other young people (e.g. in a mini hockey environment), you have confidence, good humour, discipline, and essentially, you seriously want to be a part of hockey’s best team of young leaders then we want to hear from you now!!

Next Monday night (22nd February 2010) we have a guest GK coaching session delivered by Simon Mason, former England and Great Britain Goalkeeper. He will be available to coach our club goalkeepers (junior and adults). This will run from 6.45pm – 8.00pm and Simon will be assisted by Ross Hayward who has been doing the GK coaching to-date.
Immediately after Simon will be available for a chat in the bar – about GK coaching, or about his candidacy for England Hockey Board President, which I understand is a four way election affair this year.

National Indoor Hockey Championships Final 31st Jan - Social [Posted by penney 2009-12-14]
The National Indoor Hockey Championship Finals are coming up in January and we would like to arrange a group of us to go up and watch the event. It is being held in Nottingham this year at the Tent FM Arena on the 31st January 2010.
If anyone would like tickets to the event please contact me directly and I will arrange tickets. £11 for adults and £6 for juniors i believe. We will need money up front and any volunteers for drivers on the Sunday would be most helpful. A night out in Nottingham is potentially on the board for any senior members on the saturday which i will try and get some accomodation organised for.

Could you please pass on to anyone between the ages of 14-21 who may be interested in representing the East of England on the Youth Panel to develop hockey across the region.
They are looking for enthusiastic committed young people keen on hockey including umpires, leaders, coaches, players, officials or supporters who would like to make a difference to hockey as they know it. They have four meetings a year as well as helping to organise and run the East Clubs Festival and supporting the East Schools championships. If you apply you would need to be able to commit to:
17th Jan, 14th March (Meetings – Culford School, Suffolk)
17th + 18th April (Clubs Festival – Harleston, Suffolk accommodation provided)
And at least one of the following:
16th March, 17th March, 18th March (Schools championships – various places)

East Region Indoor Hockey Qualifiers - All [Posted by Andy_Land 2009-12-09]
This weekend the Regional Qualification Tournament for Indoor Hockey is taking place in Cambridge, the winner of which gets a place in National League Indoor Div 2. If you find yourself in town shopping this weekend, take a quick break and come and support the club. The tournament is held at the Kelsey Kerridge Sports Centre (a 5 min walk from the bus station) and the times are on the home page.
It would be really nice to see a group of people there cheering on the indoor squad and is a great opportunity to see some quality hockey.
