Be Ready for Hockey

Posted by Website StIves on 6 October 2017

If you are coming along to hockey training or matches this year, it is imperative that you wear the correct safety kit, no matter how silly you might feel. We recommend that all players representing St Ives HC wear shin-pads, a gum shield and gloves, to ensure the upmost protection is offered.

Adults

It is the responsibility of those aged over 18 to ensure they have the correct kit; if an adult decides to play without the suggested protection it is entirely their decision to continue and they are responsible for their own welfare during this period.

Children

Those aged under 18 MUST wear all the protective equipment named above, those not wearing the appropriate kit may be asked to stop training or playing by the Captain/Coach. Please ensure you bring the correct kit to every training session and match day, including footwear and clothing. Children should also train/play with all jewellery/wrist bands removed and long hair tied back.

Kit can be purchased online from most good sports retailers, and One Leisure St Ives Outdoor also has a supply of gumshields for a small fee.

If you need any help sourcing kit please get in touch with us via management@stiveshockeyclub.co.uk.
