Mens 3 vs Bourne Deeping 2

So finally the rain stops, the day dawns bright and Bourne Deeping await with another early start. Half past ten away is never ideal, but give or take we are all there and are ready….

Things start well. Very well in fact, and after pretty much the first attack we are a goal to the good courtesy of excellent approach play and a neat finish by Captain Jones. Bourne Deeping get into the game and start to create chances: a collective desire by the whole Ives team to run into flat sticks seems to descend: the passing and moving of the first five minutes is gone. We survive a few close shaves, win a short corner, and - Jones again. Apparently that’s five against Bourne this season?

Second half sees constant errors and frustration, as Bourne continue to press, scoring twice and we find ourselves needing a decider. Finally the ball starts to move to players: Aaron picks up wide right in the D, shoots to goal, the ball pops up and Jacob finishes from above his head: right place, right time. Not pretty but as ever with the 3s, we kept going and it was enough. Good job guys.
