England Hockey are in the process of developing some new workshops linked to the “What” to coach. The first one to be launched is “What to Coach – Goalkeepers” and is being piloted in East London. As a coach from this area we would like to invite you to book onto this pilot workshop at a reduced price of £25.

This workshop is designed for coaches that:
• Want to develop goalkeepers in line with the National Developments Themes for goalkeepers
• Want to create the appropriate learning environments for goalkeeper
• Have to include goalkeepers of varying ability
• Have prior knowledge of “how” to coach and the Golden Thread ideally through attendance at one of the following:
– Introduction to Hockey
– Engaging Games For Children
– Coaching For Club Players
– Integrating GKs
– Sessional Coach Course
– Coach Course
– Make Hockey Happen
By the end of the workshop coaches should be able to:
• Create practice design on what to coach goalkeepers alongside a rich understanding of the National Development Themes for goalkeepers
• Replicate appropriate learning environments to bring game like scenarios to life on a regular basis
• Create variations to existing practices to develop a suite of activities for goalkeepers of all levels
• Demonstrate that all players can work and develop together when developing skills
Coaches that attend this workshop will get:
• 3 hours of practical examples from International GK coaches
