Back to Hockey or New to Hockey sessions are 7-8pm, Monday’s. Whether it’s been a few years, or if you’ve never picked up a stick before, we welcome all levels to come and give it a go. You’ll have a bit of a run around whilst learning a few basic skills in a low pressure, informal and very social session.

HIIT and Hockey is 8-9pm, Monday’s. The first half is High Intensity Interval Training, a short, sharp circuit type session with NO Hockey whatsoever, just 25 minutes of fitness at your own pace. The second half is small sided games of Hockey if you want to stay for a run around.

£3 per session but you get your place FREE if you bring a friend! What have you got to lose?? (Only applies to the first week that the friend attends, unless you bring an additional new friend every week!)


Will I have to run laps of the pitch? NO! Our warm ups will be relevant to the level of training that we’re doing. Low impact, low intensity. A gentle warm up to get loose and prevent injuries for beginners, a bit more intensity for regulars!

Do I need all the kit? NO, just trainers and some enthusiasm! We can provide sticks and will have very limited need for shin pads and gum shields (exception is the small sided games after HIIT)

Do I need to come to every session? NO! These sessions are pay and play. Come when you can, if something crops up, don’t panic, just come back soon!

Will I have to join the club? Not as a player and you won’t suddenly be asked to play (unless you want to!) but you will need to register through the website so that we have emergency details and can set up electronic payment. Bring cash the first week.

Will I be the worst/best player there? Who knows! Our coaches will manage the groups so that you play with people of a similar ability, or your friends if you want. It’s all about enjoying the activity.

Can I play matches? YES! If you want to move into the club and come to men’s or ladies section training then we’d love to have you. If you prefer to continue with the casual sessions it’s totally up to you!

What is the minimum age for HIIT and Hockey? This session is 13+ so any juniors who are eligible to play senior hockey

Where do I meet you? Come down to the Astro, just before 7pm and introduce yourself to one of the coaches. We’ll take it from there…
