St Ives 3s - Long Sutton 2s
St Ives looked strong from the start, everybody got stuck in and put in a shift. This led to several opportunities, none of which found the back of the net. One of these David Jack forgot what sport he was playing and decided to head the ball instead of scoring. Long Sutton managed to secure a short corner and unfortunately for St Ives found the net. This did not discourage the home team as they kept up their intensity but after several short corners, the score was still 0-1 at half time.
In the second half, the intensity was maintained, putting pressure on the bare 11 Long Sutton side. St Ives earned themselves an equaliser with a goal from Dave Jones on a rebound from a short corner. St Ives maintained their pressure and was awarded for their efforts with a goal from Michael Boyle from free play. Unfortunately, Long Sutton put themselves alongside, with a high shot at goal that was changed in direction by Tristan's stick and put Stephen Denman on the wrong foot. Both sides kept fighting till the end but nothing came to fruition. Overall a great game with everyone putting in a shift right till the end.
