St Ives share points with Cambs South

St Ives faced a Cambs South team that was level on points and one place higher in the league. Both sides started strongly with St Ives shading possession. Chances were at a premium for both sides with defences on top. It was the home side that took the lead through a well executed penalty corner converted by Adam Stefanelli-Wilson. South were able to equalise before half time from open play.

Both teams picked up green cards in the second half but were still finding it difficult to create clear goal scoring opportunities. St Ives kept their work rate high throughout and did force South into turnovers but could not find a winning goal. The game finished a draw which was probably the fair result.

Man of the match went to David Haslegrave who led by example on pressing and work rate.

Next up is a trip to Ipswich East Suffolk as Ives look to consolidate their mid table position.
