A drizzly morning didn't dampen St Ives spirits of entering 2023 with a bang and they did just that. Against local rivals Huntingdon, St Ives 2s marched on to victory with a 3 nil win. The team played fantastic balls from the defensive line through the midfield to the attacking line on numerous occasions. This great team work allowed Fabbers to slot one in from the middle of the D in a calm manner.
The second half Huntingdon came out fiercer, however St Ives were still hungry for more. With the half time talk asking for more switching across the pitch this is just what the players did and 2 more goals came in the second half courtesy of MOM Megan. DOD went to Abby for taking out the spectators when she couldn't stop a run. St Ives are now ready for the rest of 2023 and are using this as a benchmark for what they are wanting for the rest of the season.
