Ladies 2 vs Pelicans 2

Today our game took us to Kings Lynn to play Pelicans 2’s the Sun was shinning with a fresh feel in the air it was 11/11/23 as we all stand together for a 2 minute remembrance silence. 

We are top of the league and want to keep our unbeaten record.

We started the game well dominating through all areas of the pitch and it did not take long for a well worked team goal with the ball played out from defence through to Fabbers in midfield who made a great pass to Dorrie who was moving into the D and placed a great shot into opposition left hand goal.

With continuous pressure and great play Ives 2’s were rewarded with a 2nd goal again with great movement and ball play from the team the ball came from the top of the D, played then to Sally who was well positioned on right hand post score was now 2-0.

The 3rd goal was again open play and came from some great team play again ball picked up by Fabbers who drew the keeper out and played the ball to her left to Miss Bell who was beautifully positioned to make a shot to the left post making the score 3-0 .

There was a further goal to be had in the latter part of the first half with a short corner routine that worked to perfection, ball dragged out by Vicky Leights to teammate Dorrie waiting at top of the D, ball played back to Leights who placed the shot into the left hand corner, Ives were now leading 4-0.

The second half was slightly scant of goals but there was terrific play throughout the pitch with great play from the defence through to midfield to the attack, special mention should go to Man of the match Vicky Leights who provided support and created space for players around her and switching play reading the game with great composure. Our final goal was to come from a short corner battle as the final whistle was blown so Ives had one more opportunity to increase the goal tally and they were determined and it was Sally P who was to make it 5. A fantastic result with some brilliant team play.
