Kettering - Away
1st league game of the season for the 2's was away at Kettering. With Mike McKenna not being able to 'sneak away at lunch time", the 2's had 12 men - but Kettering only had a bare 11 so the game was there to be had.
The 2's started swiftly with good leads from the forward line, Mike Balding and Garth Mooney putting the pressure on. A great ball from Matt Bamford, a couple of 1-2's and Garth puts the ball in the back of the cage - 1 nil! St Ives despite facing a string of short corners, Jack Renwick, made save after save keeping St Ives in the game. However, it was only so long before Kettering were able to break through. The game ended 3-1 to Kettering, with plenty of positives and things to work on for the games ahead.
