St Ives opened their campaign back in Division 1 after 8 years away with a hard-fought 3-4 loss away to Cambridge Nomads. St Ives took the lead as Adam Wilson continued his pre season form to slot away a penalty corner. Nomads equalised and then took the lead after some chances went their way. St Ives regrouped at half time and equalised after a high turnover ended with a scrambled finish by Adam Wilson. Nomads took the lead again after a surging run and neat finish. Adam Wilson converted another penalty corner to secure his hattrick and the equaliser. Alas it was Nomads who scored the winner with a bobbly deflection just about beat a diving Si Johnson in goal.
St Ives will regroup for the visit of Bury St Edmunds looking to secure the first points of this league campaign.
