Ladies 2 vs Ely City 1

It was a dull day in Ely and St Ives 2’s we’re up for this game. Both teams near the top but the pressure was on the opposition. Ives 2’s started off slowly and found themselves a goal down with the first 10mins, but this did not stop Ives playing our game we knew we had this,after a few short corners that were defended well by Ely, we changed our routine and Dorrie placed the ball inside right hand post now it was 1-1, St Ives were back in control, we passed and played the ball around beautifully Ely could not stop us Debs H was picking out their opportunities at every point with great support from her team mates around her, a goal each for Jess and Vicky Ives were now ahead 3-1. Second half starts and we knew that Ely were going to come out and try to bring the game back to them, Ives kept pushing and were rewarded with a goal from Beks who lifted her opportunity over the Ely keeper to make it 4-1. Ely kept pushing and Ives switched off for a while which allowed Ely back into the game and they were rewarded with a 2nd goal game now at 4-2, Ives needed to regroup and get back control it was from some great attacking play from the forwards that resulted in the 5th goal put away by Bethan. 5-2 victory POM went to Debs for some outstanding reading of the ball and forward play.
