Ladies 2 vs Pelicans 2 

Saint’s were well up for the battle expected against Pelicans despite the lack of caffeine (Fabbers ‘the fabulous’ was worried she wasn’t going to be as fab as usual)… ye of little faith!

During the first half they played the ball around the D, Ali ‘the wall’ Walrond nearly scored but was millimetres from the D. A solid Peli’s back line and great goal keeping kept the score line at 0-0 going into the halftime whistle. The only other action in this half was Vicky ‘motor mouth’ Leighton having regular chats with the umpire which later led to the DoD award and therefore some homework!!

Dorrie ‘Eager beaver’ el capitano gave the team a constructive halftime talk. The first goal came early on in the second half. From open play well positioned Lucy ‘lady luck’ Harris who had just come onto the pitch picked the ball up and placed into right hand side of the goal, finally Ives were rewarded for their persistence 1-0.

The goals then started coming from all the possession that Ives had. Ives gambled with a new short corner routine where Ali who moved the ball across to the left post for Vicky to sneak the ball into goal. 2-0 and Ives were now getting into their stride.

Third goal came again from open play. A great team play ball picked up in the middle by Dorrie who drove forward and played a lovely forward pass to the perfectly positioned Beks who only had to beat the keeper with a well placed shot taking the game to 3-0… the Bells were ringing out for a win!!

The fourth and last goal was again from open play it was the youngsters who started off the scoring and also to finish it, ball coming across into the D, Bethan ‘the younger’ who was well placed almost exactly the same type of goal as her teammates first goal, right hand post game was now 4-0.
