Ladies 2 vs Huntingdon 1

Last game of the season, it was a cold and windy one for the spectators. After an emotional last chat from our outgoing captain, Ives went out determined to get

'no more than 3 points!!'

It wasn't long before it became apparent who was going to be awarded the DOD when halfway through the warm up

Leights went to get her stick and realised it was still at home in the cupboard.

Luckily the team rallied round and found her an implement to use with an extra inch.

Play was end to end during the first half and Saints couldn't quite convert their short corners, first half 0-0.

Dorrie rallied her troops and the girls determined to give the captain a last victory came out quick from the half time whistle. Soon they were rewarded for their efforts with Lottie finally being the one to find the back of the net.

The second came from a lovely piece of play swept out from the middle, driven down the right by Izzy (player of the match) who crossed the ball in to find Bex on the back post. Bex was delighted to score especially as it was against her old team mates who she had been fraternising with before the start of the game.

Great game to play in for the last game of the season and finishing 3rd was unexpected at the start of the year. The girls are already talking about next season.

Big thank you to Dorrie and Ali for a memorable season and looking forward to celebrating next week at the end of season do.
