Mens 3 vs Spalding 2

Mens 3 vs Spalding 2

It was a hot and sunny day for the 3s at home, with a tough game ahead, we went in with our heads down, simple hockey was the quote of the day and we stuck to our word, with keeping possession for the majority of the first half. With both sides having a solid defence, even Jack coming all the way back to clear the ball as hard as he could off the baseline (if your going to clear it may aswell go big) unfortunately for a short, earning himself all but 1 DOD vote, it was going to take a golden opportunity to break through, and sure enough the more we persisted the further we got, eventually a shot was fired into Mike at the post and with a deflection off the keeper into the near post we were 1-0 up!

First half over, hopes were high, but we kept it simple throughout. As Spalding got tired, we got better with more and more breaks through their midfield, but with a brick wall of a CB, we struggled to convert. With time ticking down, tensions rising, it was important to keep our cool. Minutes remaining, Ives still 1-0 up, Spalding were getting desperate, Ives locked the D down and keep Spalding clear to take home the victory!
